Audio Editing!

Hello there! I'm in charge of audio design for our project and I've been in and out of Adobe Audition CC and Logic Pro 9 to create original sound effects and background music. I've been mostly experimenting with Audition in class, recording rough sounds with my phone and importing them into Audition, then fiddling with effects and and removing sounds from the recordings to make them cleaner. At home, I use Logic Pro 9 to experiment with original music including various orchestral instruments and synths, as well as using instruments to create user interface sound effects, which is definitely a fun process; a lot of games use musical sounds and instruments to create UI sound effects, with that process often being present in role-playing games.

While ambient music isn't my area of expertise, being a rock and metal musician, I'm starting to get more used to it with various experiments; the most challenging part of the job is certainly the sound effects, and not the user interface sounds, but the realistically recorded ones that are meant to fill in for nature-based effects and human interactions with the environment. Another hurdle to overcome is getting the mix proportionate to be well-balanced in a virtual reality setting, but I'm looking forward to the challenge.
