The VR Side
Our work with Lucid Dream to date has included making nodes for teleportation and transposition. Within Unity, the nodes are the method of transportation. There are a lot of nodes in two separate areas of the scene we have created and, with a lot of development time, we have been able to make over 30 modes to allow movement. With the trigger pull and release when shooting at a node, you teleport to a new place in the scene representing your movement in the actual prison. The larger trackpad button on the controller will move you to a new world. With the diligent help of the modelers in our CTE Advanced Studies class, we have worked very hard to get eight buildings modeled. It is wonderful to have such a great team behind this project and it is amazing to see the speed and quality with which the pieces are emerging. There is so much that goes into working in and with Unity and I consider myself extremely lucky to be collaborating with the group at Lucid Dream, who provide us with a vast knowledge resource from which to pull information.
